At Christmas, we organized a food donation to help Tira Avant Alboraya, an NGO from Alboraya, Valencia.
This NGO has been working for more than 10 years and its sole purpose has always been to prevent the neighbors of this town from starving. With the help of volunteers, (every Thursday) they distribute from fruits and vegetables to pasta, milk or legumes thanks to the collaboration of local supermarkets and stores.
The NGO feeds more than 90 local households every week.
For food donations, a pick-up point was set up next to the water filter at the Alboraya UD soccer club, with whom the foundation has an agreement to make the club more sustainable.
All of the club members, the staff and young players together with Kick Out Plastic, joined forces to donate more than 100 kilos of non-perishable food to Tira Avant Alboraia.
Every little bit adds up and this action has made it possible to offer more food to a greater number of vulnerable families. But what’s more important, to rise awareness among the society.
Sustainability and solidarity can indeed go together.
